they charge $1.50 for EVERY transaction! So much so that I actually have $1.15 on my green dot but cannot use it, because its auto configured to charge the $1.50 on top of every transaction! They charge more per swipe then some of the items I bought! They use to have a monthly payment option (back when they charged $1/transaction) to avoid that additional "charge on a charge" charge! Idk what happened? They control a lot of other branded payment cards so they don't NEED the money, do they?

A nightmare. Transactions pend foreveru till they are able to double dip for the same transaction. I deliberately left my checking at the bare minimum, pulling money from the vault to make transactions, acct still ended overdrawn. their refresh system is slow, you dont have any recourse if the mistake is on their end. I kept asking for audits of my acct because my money kept coming up missing. No do! I was robbed legally!

I've been through four cards now because of fraudulent charges. Not only is the app barely functional, the card itself charges $1.50 EVERY time you use it. Do not get this card or use the app, Green Dot is absolutely not worth it. They started off okay-ish, but some time within the past year this service went to absolute garbage. Even getting my money back has been a battle.

What’s new
The Green Dot app is designed to help you manage any Green Dot account! Green Dot offers a family of debit cards that help address a range of needs—everyday money management, cash back or paying bills. All offer early direct deposit, ATM access, a Savings feature, convenient cash deposits using the app, lock/unlock protection, 24/7 access and a range of other features. The app has been updated to include a new overdraft feature, updated direct deposit information and access to the INT-1099 form.
